Good Stock

Family stories, photographs, and memories preserved for future generations.

Welcome to Good Stock

My grandmother often told me I came from "good stock."

Good stock isn't about having a perfect family. It isn't measured by money, education, or an easy life. It's found in the character, grit, kindness, humor, and love that are passed from one generation to the next. Even in families marked by hardship, there is goodness worth remembering.

These stories are my attempt to preserve that goodness.

They are memories of growing up in Oklahoma during the 1960s and 1970s—the people who shaped me, the moments that changed me, and the ordinary days that become extraordinary with time.

I hope these stories help my children, grandchildren, and future generations know the people who came before them. I also hope they invite conversation. If you're family and remember an event differently, have a story I've never heard, or a photograph tucked away in a drawer, I'd love to hear from you.

If you're not family, I hope these memories awaken your own. Nothing brings me more joy than hearing someone say, "Your story made me want to write mine."

Because every family has a story.

And every family has some good stock worth remembering.

"You come from good stock," my grandmother, Maggie, often told me.
